  1. This is the release note for ResEdit 2.0b2.
  2.  
  3. The following is a summary of the major changes.  Details of the changes will be available in
  4. the update of the manual which will be available when the beta release is released through
  5. APDA.

  8. for b2:
  9.         The menu editor will no longer hang with an address error on a Mac Plus or SE.
  10.         
  11. for b1:
  12.         There is now a checkbox in the preferences dialog to enable full file verification
  13.             on open.  The default if to not verify the file.
  14.         hortCuts menu has been removed and added as a hierarchical menu to the File menu.  It is
  15.             now called Open Special.
  16.         Resource map repair now works.
  17.         Color icon editors now work on 24 bit monitors and work without 32 bit QuickDraw.
  18.         Lots of bug fixes.

  20. from previous releases:
  21.         Picker windows now have zoom boxes
  22.         Select changed command has been added to the Edit menu
  23.         You can now type either the ID or the resource name to select a resource 
  24.             in the resource picker.
  25.         Revert now reverts changes that have been made in a resources info 
  26.             (ID, name & bits)
  27.         The file info window has been changed to add new bits for System 7.  The 
  28.             locked bit was changed to an Alias bit and isLetter, isStationary and
  29.             useCustomIcon were added.  All four of these bits only show up if 
  30.             system 7.0 or later is running.
  31.         The folder info window now has bits for System 7.  The locked bit is gone
  32.             and, if System 7 is running, a useCustomIcon bit has been added.
  33.         The snd picker will now allow any sound to be played.
  34.         Resource checking has been added.  It includes most of the checks that
  35.             RezDet performs.
  36.         A font menu has been added to the template editor.  Also, shift-tab will
  37.             move backwards through a template.
  38.         MENU, BNDL, finder icon & cicn editors
  39.         New user interface
  40.         A Shortcuts menu
  41.         View menus for pickers
  42.         Large PICTs can be pasted into all bit editors - you can slide the part
  43.             you want into the editable area
  44.         You can now revert the system and ResEdit!
  45.         qrsc, wstr & fld# templates added
  46.         Printing was added
  47.     
  48. Plus many other smaller changes and bug fixes.
